Voigtlander Brillant, ca. 1937 or 1938, that I picked up at an antique fair for $20. The waist-level finder is missing a flap, the focusing ring is out of register, it’s missing the top nameplate and it’s a bit scuffed up, but it works. The body is bakelite with inserts made to look like fine-grained leather.

Apparently to store coloured filters for shooting B&W.

This is a model 1937 or 1938. Earlier models were completely made of metal, and after 1938 they had gears between the upper and lower lens for a coupled focussing system.

So the body is completely bakelite, then? I guess that makes sense given the lack of rust or chipped paint on the corners.

I guess so.... I have never seen the bakelite version myself. I do have other cameras that are entirely made of it though.
